Didn’t you know your doggie baby was a fashionista? Oh! You would definitely know if you got her a collar that doesn’t go well with her coat. Yes, we know that choosing the right color collar is tough. We have dogs too have shopped for dog accessories, it gets a bit overwhelming especially when you have to pick from so many colors and types of collars on the market. To help you choose well and fast.
There is a sense of pride just as with any parent, when someone compliments you on how cute your doggie baby looks. Giving your dog the perfect color collar for her coat adds great contrasts (just like matching your tops and bottoms) and also makes you feel great seeing your dog, just like your baby, feeling happy being cared for in beautiful ways.
Below are some tips on choosing the perfect color collars for your dog.
1. Use the temperature selection rule
As mentioned earlier, colors come in different temperature so the selection rules are a rule of thumb or simple guide to selecting the right temperature color combination. The temperature colors are warm, neutral and cool. So, colors like red, tan and browns are warm. Purples, blues, and greens are cool colors while white, black and gray are neutral colors.
Having that in mind, go for contrast when choosing the right color collar by shopping for opposites in colors. For example, if your dog’s coat is warm in color like brown or red, shop for cools colors like blue or green.
2. Contrasting colors
Be sure to strike a balance between light and dark if you really want your dog to stand out in a crowd. The lighter the coat, the darker the collar should be and vice versa. There are not too many collars a dog with a black coat cannot wear; however, the rule still applies; so stay away from colors that are too close to black in tone, such as brown and navy.
